Inside Keyzo: An Interview with Luke
Luke Rees is one of our Business Development Managers and started with the company last September. In this short space of time he’s come a long way to enhance his skills, knowledge and experience within our Commercial Team.
We had a chat with Luke to gain some insights into his current role, and his journey so far.
What does your role involve as a Business Development Manager at Keyzo?
“My role involves handling inbound inquiries and reaching out to other businesses to raise awareness of our products and services. I provide companies that request more information with everything they need to make an informed decision, helping them automate manual processes to save time and improve compliance in areas such as Health & Safety and industry regulations.”
Did you have any relevant experience prior to joining the company?
“I’ve worked in B2B sales for over a decade, i have a lot of previous experience and success managing a full sales cycle.”
How has Keyzo helped you develop your skills and knowledge since you started?
“Keyzo has massively helped me to develop/ Delving in to the world of Health & Safety, regulatory compliance, auditing etc, which for some might sound quite boring! For me, this has really sparked an interest and has widened my knowledge. I’m looking forward to beginning my IOSH learning which Keyzo is supporting me with.”
What do you like most about your Business Development Manager Role?
“Talking to people! I love knowing that what I offer our clients helps make their working lives easier, which in turn positively impacts their personal lives. Many business processes are heavily manual, making them prone to errors and affecting the ability to prove compliance during audits—not to mention the safety risks involved. The products Keyzo has developed streamline all of that, and I enjoy helping companies digitise their processes.”
What’s been your personal highlight so far since Joining Keyzo?
“Getting my first sale!”
How do you find working remotely and how does Keyzo support you as a remote worker?
“I’m a very social person and used to really enjoy working in an office, but i find working remotely i can be in my own little bubble and concentrate on my role more. Keyzo supports me 10000000000000%, being able to do the school run every day makes me incredibly happy, i know that very few people can do that. Family is most important to me and that is a big part of my life.”
What advice would you give someone thinking of becoming a Business Development Manager?
“If you like helping people and do not mind being ignored by the majority of the people you try to talk to, then a career in sales is for you! Like anything in life, you only get out of it what you put in, so be prepared to use every minute of the day to full effect!”
